This hickory-smoked alternative to expensive store-bought bacon is quick and easy to make. With a few ingredients, this recipe comes together in about 20 minutes. I often make a double batch to use throughout the week in various recipes.

Tempeh Bacon
Equipment
- cutting board
- Chef's Knife
- baking sheet
- parchment paper
Ingredients
- 8 oz package tempeh
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tsp liquid smoke
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F
- Cut the tempeh into 3” x ¼” slices
- In a small mixing bowl combine the remaining ingredients
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- Spread the tempeh on the baking sheet in a single layer and brush both sides with sauce mixture
- Bake for 16 minutes flipping tempeh halfway through cooking time
