Story behind this food blog

My name is Erin and I have been cooking vegan meals for over 16 years. Whenever I am asked what my favorite food is I am always drawn to pizza. The usual response to my answer is what is a vegan pizza? This blog is my response to that question.

My family and I eat pizza every Saturday. I enjoy making pizza dough from scratch and trying out new topping combinations. My pizza recipes are often inspired by seasonal ingredients and flavor combinations I try in other recipes. This blog is the beginning of my journey in documenting my different pizza recipes and sharing my love of vegan pizza with others as well as adding in other non-pizza recipes along the way.

Being vegan has opened my culinary world to new foods and cooking processes. I enjoy taking recipe inspiration from other sources and putting a vegan spin on them. I also enjoy finding ways to make healthy recipes that are full of flavor. 

I work full time and have a family so I understand the importance of saving time and money. I love to incorporate options for store-bought components to save time and variations on ingredients to save money. There are also times when I give myself the luxury to take my time and work through a more complex recipe. I live for holidays when I can have an entire afternoon to make dinner. In this blog, you will find plant-based recipes for everyone that will make you excited about cooking colorful, healthy meals.

How to start as a food blogger?

Determining your “why” is the best place to start. I needed a place to document my recipes as I am working on recipe development and a food blog was a great way for me to do that and get feedback from others.

I also recommend reaching out to other food bloggers that inspire you and learning from their practices as well.

Is this blog only for vegans?

Certainly not! The recipes can be enjoyed by all, regardless of dietary choices, and are easily adaptable to any dietary preference. I hope these recipes inspire you to include more plant-based foods in your life.
