Burrito bowl rice is the perfect base for any bowl that is bringing Mexican flavors. I recommend topping this rice with black beans, salsa, guacamole, vegan sour cream, or vegan cheese. Burrito Bowl Rice
This rice recipe makes a great base for any taco or burrito bowl.
Equipment
- medium saucepan
Ingredients
- 1 cup brown jasmine rice rinsed and drained
- 3 cups water
- 3 Tbsp ancho chili powder
- 2 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ⅛ tsp cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine all of the ingredients in a medium saucepan
- Bring mixture to a boil over high heat
- Once boiling reduce heat to medium and allow to simmer until water is absorbed; about 20 minutes
- Turn off the heat and cover the saucepan for 10 minutes to allow the rice to absorb all liquid
