This is the same recipe as my basic pizza dough but instead of making two thin-crust pizzas, it makes one hearty pan crust pizza.

Pan Crust Pizza Dough
This is the perfect pizza crust when you are hungry and need a pizza that can handle A LOT of toppings.
    Equipment
- Mixing bowl
 - Measuring cups
 - Measuring spoons
 
Ingredients
- 2 ¼ tsp active yeast
 - 1 tsp sugar
 - 1 cup warm water
 - 3 Tbsp olive oil – divided
 - 1 tsp kosher salt
 - 3 cups all purpose flour
 
Instructions
- Combine yeast, sugar, and water and let sit for 10 minutes.

 - Add 2 Tbsp of oil, salt and 1 cup of flour and mix until combined.

 - Add another cup of flour and mix.
 - Then add the last cup of flour and mix until combined and the dough is smooth.
 - Cover dough with a clean kitchen towel and let sit in a warm space to rise for an hour.
 
Cooking instructions for Pizza
- Place large castiron skillet or pizza pan in oven and preheat to 500° F.
 - Once pan has been in the oven for 30 minutes pull it out and coat bottom with 1 Tbsp of olive oil.
 - On a floured surface roll out dough to approximately 12 inches.
 - Carefully place dough in skillet and press the dough to the edges of the pan.
 - Brush dough with olive oil and top with whatever toppings you would like.
 - Bake pizza for 15 – 20 minutes until crust is golden.
 
Notes
This dough recipe freezes well.
