This is your new favorite condiment. I am lazy when it comes to infusing oil. However, this recipe is worth the minimal effort. The earthy pungent flavor of the garlic is infused with spicy gochujang and crispy chilis. I originally made this oil to go on focaccia bread but I put it on EVERYTHING! If you like a little heat in your condiments I highly recommend this recipe.
Garlic Chili Oil
Garlic chili oil is a life-changing condiment! The raw nutty garlic is infused with spicy gochujang and crispy chilis. It is addictive and I want to put it on everything.
Equipment
- small saucepan
- cutting board
- Chef's Knife
Ingredients
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup sesame oil
- 5 cloves garlic peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 tsp gochujang
- 2 Tbsp crispy chilis
Instructions
- Heat a sauce pan over medium-low heat and add both oils
- Once oil is hot add in the garlic slices and stir in oil for about a minute
- Remove pan from heat and stir in the gochujang and crispy chilis; allow to sit until cooled
Notes
Store the oil in an air tight container in a cool dark environment. Use as a condiment on pizza, noodles, salad, soup, sandwich, literally everything!
